πΏ About Our Candles
What are Three Wicks Candles made of?
All of our candles are hand-poured in small batches using 100% natural soy wax. We never use paraffin or blended waxes β just clean-burning, eco-friendly soy sourced for quality and consistency. Our wicks are lead-free and our fragrance oils are phthalate-free and paraben-free.
Are your candles safe for people with asthma or fragrance sensitivities?
Many of our customers with asthma or fragrance sensitivities choose Three Wicks specifically because of our clean-burning soy wax and high-quality fragrance oils. If you're sensitive to scent, we also offer our Plain Jane candle β all the ambiance of a beautiful soy candle with absolutely no added fragrance.
Are your candles pet-safe?
We take extra care to ensure our ingredients are pet-friendly. That said, we always recommend burning candles in a well-ventilated space and never leaving a lit candle unattended around pets or children.
Are your candles toxic-free?
Yes. Our candles contain no phthalates, no parabens, and no paraffin. Soy wax burns cleaner than paraffin, producing less soot and no harmful petroleum by-products.
How long do Three Wicks Candles burn?
Burn times vary by vessel size. Check the caution label on the bottom of your jar for the specific burn time. To maximize burn life, always trim your wick to ΒΌ" before each burn and allow a full melt pool to form. Visit our Candle Care & Safety Guide for full tips.
What scents do you offer?
We carry a rotating collection of signature scents across our candle lines β from fresh and clean to warm and cozy. The best way to find your favourite is to shop in person at one of our retail locations and smell before you buy!

β»οΈ Eco-Refill Program
What is the Eco-Refill Program?
Our Eco-Refill Program lets you bring back your empty Three Wicks vessel and have it refilled with a fresh pour of your chosen scent β at a reduced price. It's our way of reducing waste and helping you enjoy your favourite candle vessel over and over again.
How much does a refill cost?
Refills are priced at $2.00 per ounce of wax used. You only pay for the wax that actually goes into your vessel β every pour is weighed so you always get exactly what you pay for.
How do I drop off my vessel for a refill?
You have two convenient options:
- Porch drop-off (Courtice): Place your vessel in the tote on our porch with your name, phone number, email, and the scent you'd like. We'll reach out when it's ready.
- Markets Ontario (Bowmanville): Complete the refill form at our display, place your vessel in the bag provided, and put it in the bin under the display. We'll contact you when it's ready for pick-up.

π‘ Candle Care
How do I get the most out of my candle?
The key habits are: trim your wick to ΒΌ" before every burn, allow a full melt pool to form on the first burn to prevent tunnelling, and never burn for more than 4 hours at a time. Stop use when Β½" of wax remains.
For a complete guide, visit our Candle Care & Safety page.
Why is my candle tunnelling?
Tunnelling happens when the wax doesn't melt all the way to the edges of the jar on the first burn. Soy wax has a burn memory β it will follow the same pattern every time. To prevent this, always allow a full melt pool on your very first burn. See our Candle Care Guide for recommended first-burn times by jar size.
My candle has white spots or a rough top β is something wrong?
Not at all! White spots (called frosting) and a slightly rough or uneven top surface are natural characteristics of 100% soy wax. They are a sign of a natural product and do not affect the scent or burn quality of your candle.
